Angela Halbert is a Program Director and Referral
Coordinator for Northwest Pathways to Independence. She oversees 10 of the
homes. She made NPI her home in January of 2005 as a Personal Care Worker,
working one on one with our consumers. Her positions soon changed to being a
Program Manager to one of the total care homes for over a year. Along with
being a Program Director, Angela is very much involved in the Referral
Process of new consumers to NPI. She also plays an active role in Endless
Adventures, a program geared around fun, adventurous events for our
consumers once a month. She also donates her time to Agnes’ Table as well as
Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
Her role as a Program Director is to help provide
community-based programs geared to meet individual needs. She helps aid in
safeguarding and promoting the individuals’ right to the fullest extent
possible, and ensures positive, proactive teaching strategies along with the
help of her Program Managers and staff.
Angela started her career with helping people with
disabilities 16 years ago in a nursing home in Texas, where she was born and
raised. Her compassion of working with Developmental Disabled Adults has
been with her since her teenage years of working and coaching Special
Olympics and working with charitable events such as dances and fundraisers
for people with disabilities. Angela was honored with the "Outstanding Effort
on Behalf of Adults with Disabilities Award" through the ARC of Eau Claire.
Angela is a native of Texas, where she met and
married her husband of 15 years, who shares the same compassion for disabled
adults as she does. She has made Wisconsin her home for 11 years. When
Angela is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
She is a mother of two children, with one starting college years and another
battling the middle school drama. In her leisure time, she enjoys listening
to her husband’s band play throughout the Chippewa Valley and being
outdoors, four wheeling, camping, and fishing with her family. Angela has a
strong heart for animals as well, and enjoys her miniature dash hound,
Brutus.
