Dottie Chambless is one of two Administrative
Assistants for NPI. She has been with the company for over a year, however,
she has been associated with the company for over five years. She enjoyed
going to all the events with her husband, Larry, who is a manager for one of
NPI’s programs. She now enjoys all the events as part of the NPI team.
She stays busy each day in the office with various
job duties. Dottie tries to help each department with any task that might
need extra attention. Along with her every day duties, Dottie keeps up with
NPI’s program’s needs as much as possible. She loves helping each program by
keeping their request of supplies filled and helping them with the "little"
problems they may have. Her favorite part of her job is working with new
hires. Dottie works with them getting all the new hire paperwork explained
and completed before they start their video training. The "teacher" in
Dottie comes out as she tries to help each new hire with testing. It is very
important that the new hires get the basic training right in order to
prepare them for the training in the program.
Dottie also is the editor of the NPI Newsletter.
She loves fitting stories in about clients that accomplish amazing things.
She also loves putting the newsletter together with little quotes of
inspiration and writing little tidbits of news about the people in the
pictures.
Working for NPI is a part of Dottie’s heart that
smiles. She rises to any challenge and gives everything she has in her to
complete any task. Her heart smiles when clients come in the office and she
gets to sit and visit with them. It’s at that time she reaps the rewards of
her job. Other rewarding times of her job are when she helps at Endless
Adventures and Fishing Has No Boundaries. She says that the fun part is
working with a group of people that know how to be professional yet can let
their hair down and laugh.
Dottie moved to Wisconsin from Texas where she and
her husband of 38 years raised her three wonderful daughters. Teaching
Sunday School was a blessing and building Children’s Church in their
community church was also a reward that gave over and over as she watched
the children grow into adults. Special Olympics became a very special part
of Dottie’s life. Her family and she helped coach various sports for the
Special Olympics. She also volunteered through REACH in Texas by helping
plan different events for special needs persons of all ages. A group home
housed by young and older men became an extended family to Dottie and will
also be a positive memory for her.
If you ever walk into the NPI office, you will be
greeted with a Southern smile and a "ya’ll have a nice day" when you leave!
NPI has become the extended family that fits like a glove on this southern
lady’s hand. Dottie knows her family, Harley, and Otis are her blessings and
her work is her passion.
